I have a ceonothus which is 9 years old and about 10ft high. It bloomed beautifully in the spring as always, but was looking slightly brown tinged when I left for holiday 2 weeks ago, and is now almost completely brown on my return. Is it dying? Is there anything I can do?

Drought - leave the hose running at the base overnight on a gentle trickle. It might recover, or you may have to do a severe prune back next year after its flowered to remove dead parts.
