Gardeners versus rats and mice-round 3.In my posting on 21st january relating to the use of Tetra Paks I stated that I had since been made aware of a commercial product which served the same purpose. I have since pursued this and the items referred to are: go to amazon and insert "grow tubes". The makers make no greater claims for these than they "deter pests". But the man who tried these did not lose a bean whereas his neighbour 10 yards away sowing direct in the ground lost 80% of his. His only complaint was they are said to be biodegradable but they did not break up during the growing season of a runner bean. Does anyone have experience of using these for this purpose?
