I planted some gladiloi this year and they have grown a lot of foliage but don't seem to be producing any flowers. Have I done something wrong?

No, you just haven't waited long enough - mine don't flower till virtually end of August, sometimes later - depends on the variety and when they were planted as to when they flower.
