I never seem able to raise ranunculus : Grows on You

I never seem able to raise ranunculus, I planted two planters up earlier in the year, however I have had plenty of foliage but only one flower for the two planters! What am I doing wrong?

Have you got them in full sun? I find the Asiatic ones prefer the sun. welcome to GoY from me too.
