I bought a water butt for the first time recently, nice and full now, but . . . mosquito larvae are now very active, and there are some wriggly brown wormy things swimming about in it. The lid has vents for some reason so I do not see how to stop the mossies from getting in. Is there anything I can do to prevent the livestock invasion?

The only thing I can suggest is to use some fine netting under the lid!

you can buy a new underwater glue you put in a gun like bath glue . just glue something over the holes .
