My onion sets have produced a lot of green top growth but no onions. Is it because i have added too much famyard manure?

Onions take a long time. They are one of the last crops to harvest. If you have lots of green growth, I think they are fine. As long as they don't bolt. Give them space to grow & adequate sun and water. Don't expect to harvest them until August/September.
