I have just bought a 24 tray of Summer Pansies that are very tall, can I cut them back to save them growing too leggy I am sure I heard Alan Titchmark saying this on a TV gardening program.

I would be inclined to trim them back,they will bush out more,and reward you with lots more flowers..Another trim back later on in the summer,and they might keep on going well into Autumn,and beyond..
