Can anyone tell me what this purple spikey plant is in this photo please? There are also pink ones growing as well. Probably a weed but it looks nice, quite tall about 3 ft.

Hi Anita,
Yes, it's Linaria purpurea (Purple Toadflax) which, although it's not actually a British native, (it's true home is Italy) is widely naturalised throughout the country having escaped from gardens. It does come in a variety of flower colours, the pic below shows some of the range:
