i grew some african marigolds from seed i saved last year.lovely good strong plants.but within a week or so of planting, they have shrivelled to death like i havent watered them.any ideas please. karen

roots havent got out into the soil properly, vine weevil grubs or insufficient watering. ant or a combination of all of them wouls cause what you describe.
