I have irish ivy planted in the footpaths for the past 4 years in the hope it will cover the wall of the house and around the windows. Its taking a long time and is not very good at gripping on to the wall. does it nead a trelles, its supposed to be self griping?

On plant Hedera hibernica

Shouldn't need a trellis - what is the wall made of you are wanting it to climb up?

Is it a new build with lots of lime still leaching out of the walls?

How do I say thanks?
