Not sure if my Cordyline is dead or not! All that is left from winter is the trunk, with five woody fronds at the top of the 3 foot trunk.

try the thumbnail test on the branches, to see if it is green underneath

Not a very useful guide on Cordylines, Hijuju - parts of the trunk could be dead and other parts alive.

Well if its still got growth at the top, that's a good sign, especially if there's signs of new growth from the tip or from the base. Were it dead, it would have no leaves at all.
