we have 4 tubs of varying hights, the tallest is 2 feet. They are sited at the entrance to our village.
What do you advise to plant as we would like colour / interest throughout the year

How about a variety of geraniums, all colours as they need little attention and do not mind it dry? This of course is only for the summer.

I always underplant with spring bulbs in my tubs then summer bedding , are they regularly looked after as shrubs and conifers would need regular watering etc.
