I was told that I had to allow my honeydew seeds to dry completly then freeze them for a year. is this true?

I wouldn't, Classy momz. If you want to store the seeds, wash all the pulp off of them, dry them thoroughly, and put them in a zipper bag with an envelope of silica gel or powdered milk to keep them dry. Keep the bag in the refrigerator (not the freezer) until you are ready to plant them.

As long as they are dry and cool, several years. Most honeydew melons need at least 90 days of very warm, frost-free weather to fruit, so if the weather where you are starts getting nippy before mid September, it may be already too late.
