i have a ring of mushrooms 6ft dia on my lawn the question is why do they grow like this i call it my fairy ring

think this has been answered on our second question - as to why fairy rings occur, no one's really sure, but the educated guess is that the site once had a woody plant (tree ,shrub) growing there, and the fungi occur because of it - but there's no proof that's the case.
