How do I get rid of moss on my lawn

Answers

I have been doing it with an old method this year, 3ozs. of sulphate of ammonia, 1oz of sulphate of iron, 1 gallon of water. Do not mow for one week before applying the solution and you need to have warm water to get the mixture correct. 1 gallon covers 20 square yards, for the best application use a fine rose on a plastic watering can. Apply it in the evening when your lawn is moist. If you have a large lawn you can mix a larger quantity in a plastic dustbin.

You can buy ready to use feed and weed mix that kills moss just add water much less bother. I did this and after 2 -3 weeks I was able to rake out the dead moss. Also the less shade and water in/on your law the less moss.

It's sometimes best to take time over the way we work on different projects in the horticultural area. Cost must come first, the best results of what you do can be second. If using chemicals on the earth, you need to take care with damage you can do to the environment. Modern feed, weed and moss killers are costly and much of what you use soaks away in the surface water. Sulphate salts are quickly broken down and can be absorbed into other plant life without ill effects.
