I have acanthus spinosus in two diffrent positions in the garden - both are in sunny, sheltered position and fertile soil. In the last ten years I lived in this house (West Yorkshire) I had only one flower from both of then depite the fact that they both have healthy leaves and are spreading like mad. In my previous house not far away it flowered more. Any ideas why this may be the case?

They like well drained soil - could it be that the soil is clay or too acid or alkaline?
