My alstromoemeria is growing in large clumps, but only a small proportion flower. I know you should thin out the "blind" ones to allow the flowering eyes to flourish but how do you know which ones are "blind"? (The ones that flower are quite tall). Also, what do you feed them with?

On plant Alstroemeria aurea

I've never heard of "thinning out the blind ones" in Alstromeria - they form clumps quite naturally, and should be dug up and divided in early autumn or spring, and the sections replanted immediately.

How do I say thanks?
