We are considering buying a Cypress conifer, the tall sim tree that is often seen in Italy. Are the ok for NW/UK climate .what advice can you give about planting, feeing, watering ?Thanks

Cupressus sempervirens must be the one you mean. The basic species gets 100 feet tall eventually, but there is a smaller hybrid called "Green Spire" or sometimes "Green Pencil". Plant in mid to late autumn or early spring in any well drained soil in a sunny position away from cold, drying, easterly winds. Stake for the first few years. C. sempervirens 'Swayne's Gold' is tender.
