how long do lettuces take to grow?

well i planted my seeds 2 weeks ago and they are up by about 1 and 1/2 cm, but they wont be ready to eat for at least another 4 to 8 weeks

I would say six to eight weeks from planting although heart type lettuce (Iceberg etc.) will take longer
