There a number of very leafy new shoots growing close to the base of my cordyline. If I cut 1 or more off and dust with rooting powder and then put in a pot with general purpose compost are they likely to take?

I would leave it to grow all summer, remove the soil to expose the pup and cut it off with some root. Pot it up in the greenhouse all winter, keeping the soil moist.

I'm not sure its very successful I have tried a couple of times with no luck, but there's nothing to loose.
