Japaanese Dogwood 'Kousa"

Asked on 14 Jul, 2008

Non of the normally prolific flowering dogwoods seemed to have flowered this year. Not a braque to show. Even at Hidcote. What's going on?

My Kousa is only small, but flowered quite well this year. However, all the bracts were tinged with pink - which I read is some kind of fungus. Also, had tiny bugs over all of the flowering bracts (posted a pic on this site). Didn't find out what they were, but I picked them all off to be on the safe side.
