I have two water butts One is now empty waiting for the rain. The other has still got water in it from last year Is it ok to use this water for my tubs which have hostas and a few annuals Looking in it looks really grotty, with a awful looking scum on the top.I would hate to waste the water as it is a large butt.

As MG says the water will be fine to use, but not on seedlings.
