i would to know what is the best thing to use to kill of the weed known as horses tail or mares tail as my back garden is full it.

This weed is hard to get rid of, it has a waxy coating. I've sprayed it with roundup but it does not die off completely. if you tread on it to break down the waxy covering then spray it this helps to kill it off . I was also told to pour boiling water on it to break down the wax coating. All in all it is a hard weed to rid of
