My grass wont grow out by garden against my garage wall because its too shady .Can I put a gravel border there,if so has any one got any ideas please

If you mean you want to put gravel with plants growing in it, a shady area is not a good spot to do that - plants which grow well in gravel are usually alpines or similar, and they like sunny conditions. Depending on the size of the area, why not use shade loving plants in a soil border instead.
