I have mine in pots as they are tender and it makes it easier to bring them in for the winter. In pots they like J.I. no3 for long term or a good multi-purpose if repotted every spring.

They like neutral, Joan, but they aren't very fussy about it. A point of pH either way doesn't seem to bother them.
