hi i have a a small area of soil with wood goin around i have just noticed its very damp and there is some type of fungus now growing its a rubber looking and colour is this safe to have there especially as im growin broclie and carrotts there...but actully broclie not coming together just gets taller can u possibly enlighten me????

the fungus will not harm your veg. in fact as they do their job of breaking down wood they will release nutrient s back into the soil.
broccoli will get quite tall then it will start to form the flower. it is then that you pick it.
