My primroses have been spectacular this year? Is it anything to do with the cold winter we've had because I'm not aware that I've done anything different this year to merit such a fabulous show of MASSIVE flowers?

Maybe - mine have been pretty good too. And I've noticed there have been fewer slugs - probably because it's been dry recently.
