Can you put rubarb leaves into a compost bin?

Just this last week I have put a lot of Rhubarb leaves in the compost heap down at the allotment. I think they should decompose very well.

tonight the leaves in the compost, the rhubarb sponge was marinaded in custard and is now 'de composing' in a very warm satisfied belly :o))
