I am sure I read somewhere that this is an annual but my sister has a lovely shrub full of flowers in her garden.How is the best way to keep it under control?

If they are happy, they can walk - they spread by shoots under the soil and pop up further along. This habit is easily dealt with by digging down and chopping off the new unwanted shoot. I wish mine were as happy as that!

The plant I know as Cape Fuchsia is a perennial (Phygelius cultivars.) In really cold gardens they need to shelter of a wall, but here they are just growing in the border with no special treatment at all.
