Cut it into manageable pieces with a half moon edger or spade, push spade underneath the sections and lift off, like turf. Depending on what you want to do with the area, dig over before planting.

I'm sure Bamboo might have added, stack the turf in a corner of the garden and allow it to rot down, and you will have a source of good loam to use for potting or elsewhere in the garden.
