I would give it a little more time to come into leaf. Mine are not showing leaf yet, hopefully because they are not out of their dormancy yet, and not because they are dead.

You could try scraping a bit of bark off near the base to see if it's still green - or not. One of mine is sprouting - four are not but I haven't given up on them yet!

I noticed mine are just coming from below the soil level today. so give it time.
