I've raked my lawn free of moss but it has left it very bare - do I need to re seed or will it grow back naturally.

yes re-seed or you will get weeds growing in the bare patches

I suppose it depends what you mean by 'bare patches' yes re-seed if they are more than say 4" across but otherwise feed it with something like Growmore (mosty Nitrogen) and it will be just fine I've just scarified mine and it left bare patches but it's already re-growing after a feed.
