I have an underground stream running through my back garden & the ground in certain areas is swampy how can i remedy this without digging up the whole garden.

If the underground stream is covered to flow through your garden it may have been damaged, this being so the water will leak out making swampy areas. Can you dig out a place and see if this is so. All the soil taken out should be put on a piece of polytarp to be able to return it back in the hole you make. It may be a brick cantalevered cover which with care can be repaired.
