Can I ask a stupid question? : Grows on You

Can I ask a stupid question? To all with water butts. Plants grow best on rain water right? So if the water is stagnant in a water butt because its been standing for weeks or even months will it still be good for the veggies? Warned you it might sound like a stupid question. But as my dear old Gran used to say "if you dont ask you'll never know" So I ask lol

It will be fine to use the water in your rain butts... no matter what it will keep raining and refreshing/clearing it butt/ Tip... late autumn Mr MB empties the rain butt and allows it to dry out. Then he sets it back up again.
