We have a Grizllini shrub after the winter the leaves are pale green and are falling off. What can I do to ensure the plant survives

Do you mean Griselinia littoralis? Oval leaves...? I'm afraid they are not reliably hardy, so you'll have to wait and see what happens to it. It may recover. Try feeding it with a handful of blood, fish and bone round the roots, raked in a little.
