what is it called when you cut one fruit tree into another to mix te fruits

Grafting. It is now possible to buy a half standard with both apples and pears on the same tree. Or many types of apple on one tree ! Good luck TLG

Plums, apricots, and almonds can be grafted onto peach trees. Here in the States, these are sold as "fruit cocktail" trees!
