how do bleedling hearts reproduce naturally?

On plant Dicentra spectabilis

From seed

That is of course correct. In cultivation though, there is probably only one clone so self sterile and no seed pods develop. In the wild, there will be genetic variation within the wild population so long tubular seed pods will develop after flowering (if the bees have done their hard work of course).
