I have a problem with this worm in my garden. It does not like sunlight and dies within minutes when expose to it. It lives deep under the ground and do their destruction at night. They destroy everything in their way except for herbs like Parsley and Basil. The co-operation guys could not identify this little monsters.

Please help!

Hi These are Joe Bazzards,, larvae of the Cockchafer Beetle. Theyn live several years inn the ground, . They are the hard back3 brown May Bugs that you can find on the window ledges in May. There is litle one can do to deter them, but this size will all have flown by June. There is a smaller ve4rsion that attacks Roses.

Thank you very much. I found a picture on Google and they descibe it as a GRUB. What is your opinion on that? These worms of mine never leave their battling grounds. They are here winter and summer - all year around.

they are a grub, an immature beetle . When they emerge as an adult they fly off. thats why you only see these. they feed on roots. and are difficult to eradicate. try aerating the soil bettere as they prefer compacted soil apparently.
