Is this a viburnum ? If so do you know which type and when is best to cut it back ? Thank you. Sorry got a chance to get out in the garden today so a few questions to follow.

Yes its easy - just clip it after flowering.

Only major problem with V. tinus is Viburnum beetle. If you get holes in the leaves and the bush smells of dog droppings, then you got it and need to spray assiduously, especially under the leaves.
