thank you for your reply, my cordyline is an australis and from a young plant it is now 2 metres tall and seems to grow higher each month It is planted in the garden under a katkin tree and is now up to the lower branches, help!!!

You can either chance chopping it down to a level where you want growth (but next month, when its warmer) or dig it out and replace it.
