I have just bought a philadelphus virginal mock orange in a 2 litre pot and am going to plant it in a container and would welcome advice on how big a container I need

as big as you can! I have one of these in the garden and it is 20ft tall!. Clearly if it becomes pot bound and root restricted then it wont reach its full potential. the bigger pot will keep it more stable too in high winds.
If you can I'd pop it in the ground. :o)
