can you take cuttings from roses,ie climbing and rambling roses

As Steragram says, just do it!, but not yet, wait until autumn, then take cuttings about 1 ft long and insert 2/3rds into a very well draining compost, about 4 in a deep 5" pot, put them in a cold frame over winter, and plant out next autumn, Derek.

Why not just do it, nothing to lose. Cuttings from bush roses work OK.
