Mystery plant

Can you identify this plant?
It is about 32" tall, it has alternate Linear leaves which are about 51/2" x 1/2" wide.

Is it outdoors or indoors? How tall is it ? and what are the leaves like? all this will help with the identification.

I thought it might be an Echium,but now i,m not too sure as they will have very large leaves at the base,

It looks like echium wildpretti as they have dark pink flowers on a large stem like this, but as you say, Bren Echiums have a rosette of leaves at the bottom and the flower spike is more cone like
