I have a huge Golden Barrel cactus that I need to remove from the ground and pot and was hoping someone had some ideas on this

How big exactly? I would think that it could be moved, even if some root damage occurs. As with any plant, take a good sized root ball at least a few inches wider than the diameter of the crown.
