You will need to get a fine tilth, but I don't think you will be able to do it before March as it does not pay to dig in frost. After digging over, removing all weeds, tread down. Rake over, removing stones etc. A light dressing of Blood, Fish and Bone spread over the top is all the seed will need to grow until the turf is established. Leave a week before sowing.
