I left all my plants in containers outside for the winter and they all look 'dead' - are there any that ought to have been brought in or covered ? eg fuschia

Usually they survive the winter outside as long as they are sheltered ie by a wall out of the wind and cold. My agapanthus and fuschias always survive outside together with potted camelias, a daphne, big white lillies and my herb trough which springs up every year. We're tough down south!

As long as the pots have good drainage then the plants should revive in spring. Fushias can be half hardy but we have not had very cold weather yet.

as said most of the perenials will be fine but if you had summer bedding in the pots they may have been annuals and then they will be dead.
Keep them against the wall if you can or move them to a more sheltered spot.
