This crocus is sterile, so will not produce seeds, but I believe it produces bulb offsets, which is how it increases. Your query re habitat I've answered under your previous question.

Hello Rajkumari and welcome to GoY.
Crocus sativus, the safron crocus is not known as a wild plant but is grown in the Mediterranean countries of Europe for its safron. Therefore, it likes a warm, dry climate with a dry summer dormancy. I have one or two in a pot in the greenhouse but it does not grow outdoors for me.
Botanists believe that C. sativus is a form of C, cartwrightianus.
