"Cold" Hostas
We live in Wisconsin and on Tuesday nite this week quite a few of my hostas took some frost damage - can I just cut them off at ground level and if I do will they grow over this season. Or, would it be better to cut out the damaged leaves??

No need to behead the plant, simply cut out the worst affected leaves at their base - they won't do anything and it will let more light in for new shoots to form.

I would definitely NOT cut them down to ground level. The leaves hold quite a bit of water, and are quite fiberous. Sturdy plants. Give them a few weeks to recover on their own. You should see new growth since it is spring - after the new growth is assured, trim the damaged leaves. You need those leaves to process sunlight for the new growth.
