building deep beds

i have decking offcuts using post cement and offcuts
deep beds would make my veg growing easier since im somewhat ancient!

double diging is out then' I once had a number of volantears and we sorted it with the council when I learnt that two plots were coming vacent, with the council surplying meterals we built walls around them to about two foot six inches and filled them with soil then put paveing flags around them so that they could be used by people in wheelchairs, I should add they were about eight foot wide so that every part could be reached about,

As someone who has occasional back trouble, I'm a fan of raised beds even if it's only a few inches. In my 12X8 GH I have raised my beds to waist high and about 8" of soil.
