Roses

I wish to move some roses which have been planted for about 6 years to another spot in the garden to enable me to move 6 gooseberry plants into a more suitable spot in the garden. Don't want to lose either if possible.

Well, they do sell bare root roses, so I would think they would transplant well if you can get enough roots up. The time to do this I would think would be early spring, before the plants start back into growth, or possible late autumn once the plants have become dormant.
